1. Data controller
The controller of the personal data collected on piesdemercurio.com is CABALLO DE FUEGO SpA, Chilean tax ID (RUT) 78.412.589-0 (hereinafter, “Pies de Mercurio” or “the Controller”). For any question, request, or exercise of rights related to this policy, you can write to contacto@piesdemercurio.com.
2. What data we collect
- Contact and application form: name, email address, message and, where applicable, the fact that you accepted this policy and the date of acceptance.
- Waiting list: email address, to notify you when the site launches.
- Technical browsing data: IP address and access logs automatically processed by our hosting providers for security and service-availability purposes.
- Cookies and local storage: we use one cookie (
pm-locale) to remember your chosen language, and your browser’s local storage to remember your light/dark mode preference. These are strictly functional/technical: they are not used for advertising or profiling, and don’t require your prior consent. - The site currently has no analytics tool installed (for example, Vercel Analytics). If one is added in the future, this policy will be updated to describe what information it collects.
3. Sensitive data
In the context of editorial collaborations (interviews with creators of erotic foot content, sexologists, artists, and people who live the fetish), Pies de Mercurio may process sensitive data within the meaning of Chile’s Law 19.628:
- Data about the person’s sex life, contained in their accounts, interview answers and, where applicable, in the photographic or audiovisual material they themselves provide and approve for publication.
- Identity documents, used exclusively to verify that the person is 18 or older before publishing any collaboration.
This data is only processed with the person’s express, written consent, granted specifically for this purpose through the image and interview release agreement described in our Editorial Line. The identity document is used solely to verify legal age and no copy of it is kept beyond what is strictly necessary for that verification.
4. Purposes and legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to inquiries and evaluating applications received through the contact form | Consent of the data subject |
| Notifying waiting-list subscribers about the site’s launch and news | Consent of the data subject |
| Verifying legal age and formalizing editorial collaborations (interviews, image release) | Express, written consent granted for that specific purpose |
| Publishing interviews, accounts, and material approved by the collaborator | Express, written consent, under the release agreement |
| Security, availability, and proper functioning of the site | Legitimate interest of the Controller |
| Remembering language and light/dark mode preferences | Consent implicit in the use of a technical site feature |
5. Retention period
We keep contact-form and waiting-list data for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for, and in any case for a maximum of 24 months from the last contact, unless the person requests its deletion earlier or a legal obligation requires us to keep it longer.
Data from editorial collaborations (interviews, image release) is kept for as long as the piece remains published and an editorial relationship with the person is ongoing; if the person requests that a piece be taken down, we delete the associated data that is no longer necessary to evidence the consent granted. Identity documents used to verify age are not kept beyond the time necessary to complete that verification.
6. Data processors and international transfers
To operate the site we use third-party providers that act as data processors and may process personal data outside of Chile:
- Vercel Inc. (United States) — hosting, deployment, and delivery of the site.
- Supabase — storage of the data received through the contact form and the waiting list.
- Sanity (United States) — management of the site’s editorial content (articles, interviews); it does not store personal data of people who contact us, except for contact details of authors or collaborators entered by our own editorial team.
These transfers are carried out solely to provide the contracted service, and we require these providers to meet adequate security and confidentiality standards for processing the data.
7. Your rights
Under Chile’s Law 19.628, as amended by Law 21.719, you have the right to:
- Access: know what data of yours we process.
- Rectification: correct inaccurate or outdated data.
- Erasure: request deletion of your data where applicable.
- Objection: object to a specific processing of your data.
- Portability: request that your data be transmitted to you or to a third party in a structured format.
- Blocking: request the temporary suspension of the processing of your data while a request is resolved.
You can exercise these rights by writing to contacto@piesdemercurio.com. We will respond within the timeframes set by law. If you believe your rights were not respected, you can file a complaint with Chile’s Agencia de Protección de Datos Personales.
